Overview
In February 2026 (epidemiological weeks 5 to 8), a total of 18 715 new cholera and acute watery diarrhoea (AWD) cases were reported from 17 countries, territories, and areas across four WHO regions, showing a 3% increase from January 2026. The African Region registered the highest number of cases, followed by the Eastern Mediterranean Region, the Region of the Americas, and the South-East Asia Region. This period also saw 269 cholera-related deaths globally, highlighting a 48% increase from the previous month. No outbreaks were reported in the Western Pacific Region during this time.
